Disable Nutanix Storage Compression
Nutanix compression can be disable on a storage container at any time. The Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric can have inline or post-process compression, which can be enabled or disabled as administrators see fit. While most workloads should see a benefit from compression some may not, such as data already compressed (specific audio and video codecs), data which is compressed by the application or operating system (database engine compression or ZFS with compression enabled), or data that is not compressible (raw data images or encrypted data). With those types of workloads it may make sense to disable compression on the associated storage container. This video demonstrates the process to live disable compression on a Nutanix storage container.
